Adam Loewen
Born: April 9, 1984
Bats: Left
Throws: Left
Height: 6'5
Weight: 235 lbs
Position: Starting Pitcher
Notes: In 2002, Adam Loewen made history for Canada as he was selected by Baltimore with the 4th overall draft choice. No other Canadian has ever been drafted this high. In fact, Canada had two pitchers get drafted within the first 9 draft choices(Adam Loewen and Jeff Francis). 2008 should be Adam Loewens first real chance to show he can pitch in the Major Leagues, and do so as one of the best. He is only going to turn 24 in April, but this guy has a lot of upside. After Baltimore traded fellow Canadian Erik Bedard to Seattle, the Orioles are expecting Loewen to come in and fill the void. It is going to be fun to watch this kid grow.
